Maverick Announces Leadership Race

November 1, 2021, Calgary, AB Jay Hill, Interim Leader of the Maverick Party, the West's only federal party, announced today the Party will be holding their much-anticipated Leadership race commencing January 3rd, 2022, with the permanent leader elected on May 14, 2022.

Maverick Party’s Governing Council will strike a committee to develop the rules and procedures associated with the leadership race, which will be announced on or about December 1st, 2021.

The permanent leader will take over from Jay Hill, Interim Leader of the Maverick, who has served since the Party's launch on September 17, 2020.

In September 2021, Jay Hill announced that the Maverick Party is planning to run candidates in as many ridings in Western Canada as possible, to truly become the voice of Western Canadians and represent the best interests of the West in parliament.

Candidate nominations in ridings with established EDAs are expected to be held within approximately 12 months in preparation for the next federal election.
