Maverick Party Interim Leader, Jay Hill, announced today the party plans to run a full slate of candidates across the West in the next election, whenever that is scheduled.
“Given that once again the election was decided before votes were counted in the West and the polls in BC hadn’t even closed, it reinforced how little votes in Western Canada count,” said Jay Hill.
“This fact also proves the only significant vote splitting amongst conservative voters was in Ontario.”
“For Maverick Party to truly become the voice of Western Canada, we must provide representation in all ridings, from BC to Manitoba,” said Hill.
To prepare, Maverick Party is in the process of securing EDA (Electoral District Association) or Riding Association coordinators in each province and intends to hold candidate nominations within the next 12 months.
“Since September 2020, Maverick Party has been focused on building exposure and credibility across the West, and like every other federal party, we didn’t get the results we’d hoped for in this unnecessary and unwanted general election.
However, our Governing Council, candidates of record and hundreds of volunteers are more determined than ever to offer westerners hope of a brighter future, and our resolve is strong,” Hill remarked.
